Isabel
Isabel’s sudden clash with wealth in 2023 illustrates the abysmal absurdity and blatant arbitrariness of the current global financial markets – a family member risk-lovingly investing in tech shares resulted in money that factually neither them, nor Isabel had ever been remotely connected to; money that has been elusively taken from the invisible and exploited. For Isabel, learning about the Guerrilla Foundation’s work was the first of hopefully many answers to her sudden, oftentimes angry questions towards this violently unjust global system.
Next to this fresh reality, Isabel has been studying and researching global inequities and attempted to alleviate some of the impacts caused by systemic injustices by working as a social worker in a shelter for refugees in Berlin. Seeing growth and learning as an ever-evolving pursuit, Isabel strikes to discover and understand the outer as well as the inner worlds. Growing up in Southern Germany, she has lived and worked in many contexts, from Tanzania and Myanmar to Uganda and the Netherlands. For several years now, she has found her home in Berlin. Isabel loves to spend time in nature and to practice yoga and meditation. She tentatively paints for the fun of it and loves to read.
