A Deeper Inquiry #15: Rethinking Impact Measurement pt.II A Deeper Inquiry

Welcome to another juicy conversation where we decondition from the simplistic ways social movements get measured using business-school logic 🙂

In part two of this Impact Measurement special, we continue to zoom in on what often gets left out of the frame: the nuanced, non-linear relational stuff that drives real social and political change but that doesn’t ascribe to models and objectives. This time around we’re bringing in Marcus Jenal from Fondation Botnar, who leads their approach to Strategic Learning and Evaluation.

His work is all about staying responsive to context, prioritising learning and continuous adaptation, and finding ways to grasp – and therefore measure – change as it unfolds. He’ll be joined by Adriana Algarin who’s the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Manager for NuestraBarranquilla, a Botnar-funded programme based in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Together they’ll share how a funder and a local partner are co-developing a more dynamic and collaborative approach to monitoring, evaluation and learning. One that supports implementation and adaptation while also generating insights that are actually useful for the funder.
